I am now the grandmother of two - a boy and a girl. That's a perfect combination if you ask me. Each day life continues on its course, but it's different now. The world seems different now because there are a couple of new little people in it that make all the difference to me. The economic events in our nation, the political scene, the international news all seems a little more serious that it did before. Now it affects my grandbabies. I listen to it all differently now as I filter how it will make a difference in a world that Tyler and Ava Claire are growing up in. I know that we aren't in heaven yet, but oh how I want a peaceful and prosperous world for them.
I have spent the week helping my daughter with her new daughter. What a privilege. I remember when I had my babies and my mom came and stayed with me. I loved it. It was such a sweet time of bonding and sharing and it was always so sad when she left. This is my last day with my daughter and I am so proud of her mothering skills. She is very natural and relaxed and she really hasn't needed my help at all. But we pretend she did and enjoy our time together.
Little Ava Claire is just as sweet as she can be. My word, I never knew a baby could sleep so much! She sleeps through the night and she sleeps most of the day too. I told Andrea that I worry one of these times she will wake up and be so caught up on her sleep that she will stay awake forever!
Tyler grew up last Thursday night. When he went to bed he was a baby and by Friday morning, well, he just looked so much older! He is at such a fun age - he loves to interact and play. He is holding and chewing on toys and is starting to hold his own bottle. He loves his blankies - I think he will be a blankie baby!
Next week I go back to work and life will get back to routine again. Except that I have a bigger heart now because I have so much more love in there for my little granddaughter.
God has been so good to me and my family.
