And It Isn't Even About the Donuts

Hi. I'm Robin. It's nice to meet you. I used to be a pretty regular blogger here at the Robinznest. But you wouldn't know that by my lack of posts lately.

Actually this last break was unintended. I have spent the last few days in Boston to attend my daughter's graduation from grad school.

Among various other things, our hotel didn't have internet. Note to self: be very careful securing hotels over the internet.

Having never been to Boston before, we took several days to tour the sights. We had a wonderful time and I will be posting more about it soon.

But for now I am exhausted and I think I will need about a month to recuperate from my mini-vacation which included a seven hour drive to the airport, a red-eye flight, amazing food, a musical scene on the street that came straight out of Italy, and more American History than I ever learned in high school. I will leave you with these pictures from our sight-seeing.

I know.

I thought it was odd too.

You find these all over the city of Boston. And I do mean All Over.

And everyone tells me it's not about the donuts. It's all about the coffee.

Go figure.

I'm going to bed now.

The coffee is wonderful. But I sure wish I could buy one of their donuts out here in the west.

It sounds like you had a lovely trip! Welcome home!

No question. The coffee. One of the tricks is that they put in the cream first and then add the coffee over it. That and a ton of sugar!(the chocolate honey nut donuts are not bad either :)

That is so funny. I love Boston! And when I was there I noticed there was a Starbucks on EVERY CORNER. Including amazingly historical corners like the place that the Declaration of Independence had been read. You know, knock down this 18th century building and put in a Starbucks. Because it's all about the coffee :)

It's about the coffee??!

I visited Boston twice when my parents were living there (for 1.5 years) and you're right about learning history.

Congrats to your daughter!

Can't help you on the donuts or coffee debate. Never been to Boston and never had Dunkin Donuts (they're not in my part of the world.)

Sure wish they were though... as much as I've heard about their coffee I'd sure like to give it a try! Someday maybe...

Sounds like you had a wonderfully lovely time!
