Weigh In Day

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Well. . . . this has been a rather up and down week. On Sunday morning I weighed and I was very excited - I was down 3 pounds! That is so good for me - I never lose that much in one week. But then Mother's Day on Sunday and a family birthday on Monday - I was sabotaged. On Mother's Day all my girls planned a wonderful meal of spare ribs, baked potatoes, and a fabulous chocolate cake. For our family birthday dinner last night we had a Mexican fiesta - complete with a Mexican flan cake lovingly prepared by my daughter. How can you not eat? So all this to say that when I weighed this morning, my 3 lb. loss changed to a 1/2 pound loss. But I am still encouraged because if I stick to my points this week (no holidays that I know of) I should lose that pesky 2 1/2 pounds again.
Other than the two special days, I did very well staying within my point range. And I hesitate to admit it out loud, but I did do a teensy bit of walking this week. But it's not a committment - I don't want you to think I am feeling obligated to walk everyday, it's not like that- okay? I am not saying I am a walker now - I am just saying that it was convenient to do a little bit of walking this last week. I didn't plan it - it just happened. Okay - are we straight on the exercise thing? I'm not exercising - I'm just dieting - for now. I'm just saying. Okay?
So my final loss for this first week is 1/2 pound. At least I didn't gain. Right?

Right on, Robin! Great attitude! You're headed in the right direction and it's not a one-time deal - this is about making small changes a little at a time that will result in awesome lifelong habits!

You definitely have the right attitude. My weight changes daily too. I go to WW on Sat and last week (thurs) I was showing a 2 pound loss and somehow (exercise) I ended up showing a .4 gain. But as of today I am back down about 2.5 ponds! Oh well. I hope you have a great week!!

I exercise everyday and I only lost one pound. Sometimes, it's just the mental energy of doing something healthy for yourself that really matters.

Good girl, for the half pound...and all the encouragement you give to others.

You go girl!
And who knows you may get that weight back sooner than you thought. Some of it may be water gain.
Keep up the good work!

Goodbye to that 1/2 pound! I think the best way to make these changes for a life time is one step at a time. The exercise will come when you are ready (it sounds like it is sneeking in on you yay!).

I have been weighing myself once a day and just for fun today I weighed myself before I got into the shower and when I got out I weighed 2 lbs more. Our weight does vary from moment to moment.

I just said a prayer for you! Thank you for your support!

1/2 pound is better than nothing (which is what I had). Next week will be better. Especially now that you have become a walker! HA!!

That's wonderful Robin and you have a great attitude. In the long run you'll remember the time spent with your daughters more than the 2.5 pounds.

way to go! a 1/2 lb is a 1/2lb. Family functions/social eating is always a tough situation, especially when it's one thing after another....

You definitely had the right attitude--Eat what you want you can always catch up :)! Keep on going--if we were all WALKERS we would probably lose 5 lbs a week! Maybe we could walk a week then take off a week!!!

You cracked me up--ok, you're not exercising!! Got it!! We had a lot in common this week as we both lost 1/2 pound and we both had a family birthday on Monday! Good job this week.

Methinks thou doth protest too much. Er ... I mean, sounds like MAYBE you MIGHT have just like that walk a LITTLE bit.

I have to say Robin, I have been a walker for 26 years. Before that I was a runner. I like walking so much better. And if I don't get my walk in a few days, my husband can tell because I get real cranky-like. I LOVE my walks. You will too if you give it a try. Baby steps at first. Good luck this week.

You are so funny with the exercise. Good job taking some walks. Watch out you might get addicted to those endorphins though. :0)
