Thankful Thursday

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

I am concious today of all the good and perfect gifts God has given me. Too many to list really. But here are a few:

* The older women in my church who mentor me. There is one particular lady who is 86 and I really want to be like her when I grow up!

* The incredible day of rain we had last Sunday. I have never seen it rain so hard and steady for a whole day since I have lived here the last 19 years. It was refreshing.

* Our vacation

* My brother-in-law, Craig who helps me see that God's good and perfect gifts come wrapped in packages that surprise us sometimes.

* My ever growing pile of books to read!

If you want to be a part of Thankful Thursday, jump on over here and join the fun!

I love to read too..
I"m reading Karen Kingsbury's Sunrise.. I have read all the series leading up to this... and I'm almost done.. sad .. now I have to wait on the next one...

isn't it funny how we spend our life thinking how dumb older people are, then there is a turn in our life and we realize how smart they are... I too have found a true love for special ladies in my church.

thanks for stopping by.

I hope to get to know you better in bloggsville

Glad to see you joined us. I did not think I would get to post today but it all worked out.
We have had our share of rain at home--hope it is over by the time we get home so that my husband can work.
Have a great week.

Love your comments about the mentors--this is so important.

Hey girl, pile of books? yeah! Seven bad hair days..how could you stand it? HA! My hair is very thin also. Came from both sides of my grandparents. Lots of product and lots of cement hair spray. My mentor is 90 yrs old. She's a wild woman for Jesus. I love her so much. Blessings on your day.

I came over from Diane's blog today to let you know that I "met" Diane because my daughter said we had to meet because of our prodigal sons. It has been a great year of fellowship with her and many other Christian bloggers. I wanted you to know that my son, who was delivered from severe, life-threatening addictions, came home a year ago this week - a new man. Praise the Lord. You can read our story which is linked on my sidebar, if you want to be encouraged.

I am also a book fanatic. I have one with me at all times, just in case I have a few down minutes - don't want to waste them!

I am with you on the bad hair in Florida. Oh, my goodness, humidity and I don't get along.

Our pastor's daughter is a 38-year-old Downs. What a wonderful person she is - a big, huggable teddy pair - sometimes adult, sometimes child, but loves Jesus, too.

Come and visit sometime!

"Thankful for your vacation to Florida with family."

You're blessed! I'm hoping I can write about that before summer ends. I miss my sister and my nieces. Besides, maybe they can help me get my daughter to stay on the potty and do her business. ;)

Wonderful list! There is a lady at my church who I just love and want to be when I grow up too! I hope to be that older lady that is thought of in that way!

As far as blogging goes, you are one of those ladies who I look up to. I love your wisdom and your sweetness toward your family....and your willingness to share humbly what you've learned about being a Godly wife and mother. Your kind and non-judgemental and helpful. I appreciate you. :)
