Baby of Mine

Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine

Little one when you play
Don't you mind what they say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine

If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for
The right to hold you

From your head to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows
But you're so precious to me
Cute as can be, baby of mine

It's time to brush up on the tune to this sweet little lullabye. After all, I'm going to be singing it very soon to my sweet little grandbaby!
What is your favorite lullabye?

I don't know any of the traditional lullabies and always get mixed up on the verses to "Hushabye, momma's gonna buy you a diamond ring, a horse named Bill." I don't know, it just confuses me. I used to sing the Winnie the Pooh song to my kids and also the song "Stay Awake" from Mary Poppins. I love that song and still have it memorized!

I DISTINCTLY remember the night when I came up with 'the triple medley'--Grayson was less than a month old and between both of my kids I (thank the Lord) only remember 1 night of true non-stop crying for HOURS on end. So starting that night and since I have always sung my kids "Rock-A-Bye Baby", "Hush Little Baby", and "Goodnight Sweetheart"--all in a row, in that order. :)

What a sweet lullabye. You are going to be the best grandma, Robin. When my girls were little I would sing Hush Little Baby over and over again. Now at bedtime we sing, "I Love You, a Bushel and a Peck." (Veggie Tale Style!) It's pretty cute because Mylie gets in on the last word of every line. She's starting to talk quite a bit now.

If anyone understands your excitement, I sure do. My favorite lullaby is Hush Little Baby, Don't Say a Word - Daddy's Gonna Buy You a Mockingbird.

Oh I loved Hush Little Baby too! I still sing it to my grandbabies sometimes, since the kiddies are too big!
