Simple Woman's Daybook for February 9

For Today...

Outside my window... a very dreary, foggy, snowy/rainy day. I'm so ready for spring.

I am thinking... about planting my flower seeds indoors soon.

I am thankful for... my husband, who knows me better than any other person in the world - and he loves me anyway.

From the kitchen... trying to decide what kind of cake to bake Michelle for her 29th birthday tomorrow.

I am wearing... black jeans and a black t-shirt. And black shoes and socks. I guess it kind of fits the dreary day.

I am reading... a book called Parents of Missionaries. Lots of good advice.

I am hoping... that our family is finally over the cold/flu season.

I am creating... lots and lots of memories with my sweet little grandson who is living with us for this last week before they leave for Peru.

I am hearing... the hum of my computer, footsteps down the hall, my fingers tapping away on the keyboard.

Around the house... evidence of a busy weekend!

One of my favorite things... knitting hats for my babies!

A few plans for the rest of the week... no plans at all - just being together as a family for as much as we can.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Oh how I am going to miss them.

I know you are. I can only imagine how hard this last week is. Are you off work?

I was going to do the Simple Woman post today for the first time, but I have alot on my heart from last night's service with Brent that I want to write about.

The computer stuff is so annoying - after taking it in to the "experts" and they could do nothing, even moreso.

Thinking and praying for you and your family this week, Robin. I tear up when I think of them leaving--and I'm not even their family! (well church family, that's probably why I love em so!) God has such amazing things in store for them. I really admire their faith and obedience. We have been learning about Peru lately in History. I think that was His plan so I could remember to pray for our missionaries and their families. You're all on my mind daily! God is so amazing. Enjoy your time together.

Is there any way to keep in touch with Michelle while she is in Peru? Or somewhere to read about the happenings in their lives, etc? It would be fun to hear their stories!

Ive noticed you are reading the Chiaverini books, so I thought I would recommend a book I read recently that is similar in the genre/style/subject

Its called "A Single Thread" by Marie Bostwick

Another one is "The Knitting Circle" by Ann Hood

Happy reading!

Oh, Robin, I'll keep you in my prayers this week. Get as much snuggling in as you can with that darling boy. The anticipation of their leaving can be as hard as the actual event. When my brother went to Iraq last year, the month before he left was just agonizing. The actual time away was almost (ALMOST) a relief, because then you start to count the days til they're home again. And you're in the midst of it all and you know, "I can handle this, because I'm doing it and life goes on."

It's so hard to be separated from the ones we love. Hugs to you.

I'll be thinking about you. It's going to be tough and I'll pray that the time they spend away will be an incredible blessing to you all and everyone they come into contact with in Peru. And that the time will go by swiftly!! My heart hurts for you. Enjoy every minute with that ADORABLE grandson of yours!
