Inspiration

Today I ran into the fabric store because I needed to find some thread to hem a pair of Jess's jeans - she is going back to school this weekend.

I haven't been in the fabric store for many months probably because I have been going to yarn shoppe's lately instead. But walking into the fabric store caused a magical thing to happen. It ignited a spark. I walked along the rows of fabric allowing my hand to gently rub against each one much like a playing card attached in the spokes of a bicycle wheel. The earthy smell of new textiles wafted to my nostrils. I began seeing the fabric made up into different projects.

I made my way back to the home decor fabrics. And I bought a piece of this yardage.

For a special project I found in this book.

And while I was at the cutting counter I found this fabric. Although I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, I bought a yard of it just because it makes me happy when I look at it. Do you have any ideas?

I think I see some sewing in my very near future (like this weekend :))

Lucky you to be sewing! I will be knitting because my new sewing machine is in the same room where my son is staying until he leaves for grad school.

Enjoy whatever you are going to make. I bought Weekend Sewing. I'm just waiting for a 'free' weekend.

I love that happy pink birdie fabric. It would be pretty in a baby quilt, or backing a simple flannel bunting. Something for Ava maybe? It is so cute.

I'm finishing a baby quilt today. And I can't wait to go buy fabric for another one that is taking shape in my imagination.

I'm glad I spend time with young mothers or I'd have no one to give them to :)

I love your "happy" fabric. I took my daughter to a fabric store at the beginning of summer and ended up buy a few pieces of happy fabric myself. I bought an apron pattern, too. Still sitting there :(, but there's so much possibility!

I have a feeling that a sweet ruffled shirt will be in the works for your favorite son in law. After all, he does need some new PJs.

Wow, I'm really so far behind everywhere! I didn't know you got to go to Boston - what fun. When we went to visit Kev out there, we couldn't believe all of the Dunkin Donut shots - every single corner along that coast, it seems. And it is the coffee, I think.

Have you had any time to read the book?

My sis had a good time getting to know Brad and Michelle.
